A Little Bit of Everything

Well, it’s Tuesday again and I hope everyone had a spectacular weekend spoiling their fathers! I have a question, though. Is it just me or does it seem that Father’s Day receives a lot less attention than Mother’s Day? I truly want to be wrong in this manner of thinking because both deserve an immense amount of celebration! Being a parent is tough on both sides, the honor should be given equally. That’s just my own personal opinion.

On another note, Sunday was also the special day of Juneteenth! For those that don’t know, this day is the anniversary of the announcement of a general order that officially commemorated the emancipation of African Americans. To make it even better, it happened here in my home state of Texas! I can’t stand the heat here, but this little nugget of history does make being a born Texan worthwhile.

Speaking of heat, this reminds me of another significant occasion. Apparently, the nineteenth also marked the first day of summer. Clearly, Texas made an executive decision that it starts summer whenever it wants to, which is absolutely fine! I find no fault in such a choice, I just wish the residents were included in the decision-making, that’s all.

It makes me wonder if Texas had a secret meeting with all of the seasons and threatened summer into starting early. Hey, the world is full of mysteries, we haven’t even uncovered all of them yet, so this is very possible! In any case, summer is most certainly here and that means different things for everyone. One thing for sure is that summer is the perfect time to explore. So stay safe, stay cool, and I hope there are great adventures in store for you this summer!
