All The Sweets

Apparently, today is World Baking Day! Did you guys know about it? It’s completely fine if you didn’t, I was honestly today-years-old when I learned about it as well. Since this day is dedicated to baking, it’s only fair that I share the love with this post.

Sweets have always played a role for people from childhood to adulthood. Speaking for myself, I habitually look for something sweet when it’s been a long day and I feel overwhelmed. Not the best option to turn to, I admit, but let me live, okay? In any case, desserts and pastries equal happiness, especially when you make them yourself!

One of the fondest memories I have is baking cookies and cakes at home when I was younger. It certainly made Friday after school worth looking forward to. It’s hard to explain, but there’s a particular kind of exhilaration when you bake something. The power it has to completely shift your mood is astounding! I think I might get back into the rhythm of it.

Another thought that comes up is how the pandemic drastically shook the entire world. I could be wrong, but businesses operating in the food industry were hit the hardest. So many different restaurants had to close and others are still trying to get back on their feet. Perhaps one way I’ll celebrate this World Baking Day is to visit some local bakeries in my area. There’s nothing wrong with showing them some support! With the way things are now, even a little boost can go a long way.

How about you? What ideas do you have to make this day special? A day like this is perfect for families to do something together, so get in the kitchen, bake and eat until you drop! Not literally, though. Moderation is still key, guys.
