Today is finally the day! At last, the first part of the final season of Stranger Things is now available! To say that I have mixed feelings is an understatement. An accurate description of my current emotions would be a jumbled mess of exhilaration, anxiety, and slight melancholy.
I mentioned in another post that I am not a huge fan of the horror genre. Mind you, I have nothing against it, I am simply scared easily (insert nervous laughter here). Due to this reason, I’ve done a pretty decent job of keeping the whole genre tucked away in a sealed box in the corner. Despite that, Stranger Things is possibly the only show in that genre that genuinely enjoyed!

From the plot to the characters to the setting, this show definitely made it to my list of favorites. Although, truthfully, I’m still not happy about how dirty they did my guy Samwise Gamgee. I won’t dig too much into it, but the writers gave us hope only to snatch it away all too quickly. Honestly, I feel attacked! I’m pretty sure I hurled several objects at the television while watching that season. Even so, I still deeply admire the show.
The fact that it’s set in the eighties somehow makes it more outstanding, which at first, I wasn’t sure it would. From the perspective of a writer, the storyline and the show as a whole gets substantially more intriguing! In each of the seasons, I loved how there were multiple side stories happening alongside the main one. To top it off, they all came together perfectly as the characters make a final stand. Add in the golden rock and roll tunes of that decade and for me, it became a masterpiece!
I can say with all authenticity that I am truly sad to see the show come to an end. My only hope is that it goes out with a bang! It’s a good thing sleep isn’t a major part of my plans for the weekend because I foresee a binge on the horizon.
