I’m starting to get the sneaky suspicion that there is literally a day to celebrate anything and everything. Supposedly, today is Bike to Work Day. A pretty drastic change from Friday the 13th, isn’t it? At the same time, though, it’s also a good change. Of all the things to have a designated day for, I personally think this is one of the best, aside from World Baking Day, of course.

Taking a bike to any destination including work sounds like a surprisingly good idea. That is unless the said destination is quite far. I doubt anyone wants to show up to their workplace drenched in sweat because it took an hour on a bike to get there. On the other hand, a solution for that is bringing a fresh set of clothes to change into and using a shower facility if possible, so it could work!
Truthfully, it all boils down to preference. Circumstances play a part as well. There are those who have the capability to choose between taking a car or a bike to work, but there may also be others who have no other choice. In any case, biking is certainly a great option and this leads me to a slight confession. I have never learned how to ride a bike. There, it’s out there, don’t judge me!
To be honest, I do want to learn how to ride one even now. It really seems like an enjoyable experience, plus you get to work on some muscles along with getting some fresh air! Perhaps this is something I need to invest in. I’m curious now if this is the only day out of the year for Bike to Work Day. Seems to me this kind of day should be on repeat! Are there any other places you like to bike to besides work? Tell me about it and share some tips with me for learning how to ride!
