Living For The Weekend

I’m not sure if this is the case for anyone else, but this week feels peculiarly long. So long that I feel the phrase “living for the weekend” hits on a more personal level. Have you ever had those days where you couldn’t focus on what you were working on? No matter how much you tried to “get in the zone”, your brain just would not cooperate. Sadly, it seems that has been my situation all week.

It’s interesting now that I think about it. A week or two ago, I made a post about focusing, and now I’m not able to do exactly that. Would this be the definition of irony? Yes? No? Well, regardless if it is or isn’t, I’ve come to the realization that my brain cells have taken an impromptu vacation. I’ll be honest, I’m all for it! However, it simply would’ve been nice to have a heads up…..You guys didn’t like that pun? Well, alright, moving on.

I’ve often wondered what is needed in moments where you can’t concentrate and your mind is overwhelmed. Perhaps a change of environment by taking a walk or going on a drive? Some people even use meditation as a method as well. I haven’t tried that myself, but I read it can be effective! At any rate, I am especially grateful that this week has come to an end. I hope that during the weekend, my mind can get the rest it’s been looking for.

If any of you are in the same position as I am, I hope you can get the rest you need, too. Of course, it’s not just on the weekend that we should get plenty of rest. Although it can be difficult, adequate rest should be a goal during the week also. Another thing, this weekend is special because it’s Mother’s Day on Sunday! I trust you all will have fun spending the day with your mothers and for those who can’t, you’re in my prayers! Rest well everyone and let’s do better next week!
