Something New

Can I tell you something a little weird? I never considered starting a blog before. Why, you ask? Good question! Well, it's because that would mean my writing would be out there for the world to see. That right there is a thought that frightened me to my core. Crazy, right? Someone who wants to be a writer is scared to let others see her writing. Aren't we all like that, though? Don't we all have something we're scared to try because of what we THINK may or may not happen?
Ergo, the subject for my very first blog: trying something new. Putting action to a new venture or idea is hands down a scary thing. You feel a mix of nervousness and excitement. You start to feel a little shaky and get what we call the "bubbly guts", but then again that could also be the venti cinnamon dulce latte with four shots of espresso. Hey, don't judge, I needed to wake up.
Regardless, the notion of trailblazing unfamiliar territory can cause you to shrink back in fear. I should know, I've done exactly that for a long time. Then I started to wonder what was on the other side of my fear. I really enjoy looking at inspirational quotes. One of my personal favorites is this one by Marie Forleo, "The key to success is to start before you are ready." Can we be honest with ourselves? If we truly waited to feel ready before we did something new, we'd probably never do it.
So, what's your point Debs? I'm glad you asked! I hope you have the courage to push your discomfort aside and charge towards that new idea. I hope you stride into change with confidence. It sounds simple enough, but I for one know it can be daunting. It's okay, I'm right there myself and I'm cheering for you! We got this!
